About agriculture in Medgidia

Medgidia is situated in the heart of Constanța County, in the Dobruja region of southeastern Romania. The town lies along the Danube-Black Sea Canal, surrounded by the rolling plains of the South Dobrujan Plateau. The landscape is characterized by vast, open fields and a semi-arid climate that is typical for this part of the country.

The region is a major hub for cereal production, including wheat, barley, corn, and sunflowers. Due to its proximity to the Murfatlar wine region, viticulture is also highly significant, with numerous vineyards dotting the surrounding hills. Livestock farming, particularly sheep and cattle grazing on the steppe-like pastures, remains an important traditional activity.

Agronomists and seasonal workers will find various opportunities in large-scale crop management and vineyard maintenance. The peak demand occurs during the summer grain harvest and the autumn grape picking season. Modern irrigation systems and agricultural machinery are increasingly used in the area, requiring skilled operators and technical specialists.
