EU CAP 2026: new subsidy thresholds for small farms

The European Commission has published updated thresholds for direct payments under the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Effective January 2026, small farms (under 10 hectares) qualify for an additional flat-rate top-up of EUR 120/ha for eco-schemes.

Member states have 90 days to align national plans. Farmers should review their applications by March 31, 2026.
